Family

Years ago, I was reading a humorous book called The Gospel Blimp, about a group of Christians who rent a blimp to fly over their neighborhood and drop tracts telling their neighbors about Jesus. I had just read the part about a tract falling into a neighbors glass of beer as he sat in the back yard when the bell rang and my landlord came to fix a faulty electrical outlet. This man was a nonstop talker if you gave him a chance, so I disengaged. I kept my nose in the book hoping he wouldn't begin a conversation. Only later, amazed and in disbelief that I could have so blatantly missed the point of the book, did I ask God to forgive me. God had given me an opportunity to get to know my neighbor, and I blew it. He was working around me, and I didn't notice.
Have you missed the obvious?
